Daryl and Dagmar Charlton have been at the helm of this operation for more than four decades, but 2017 brought big changes to the Charlton Cattle Company.

Daughter Morgan decided to return to her roots after more than a decade studying and working across Canada and abroad. José, her Guatemalan husband, embraced the challenge, saying goodbye to city life and becoming Czar’s first Latino cattle rancher (or so we suspect). No more than six months later, son Keeley decided to do the same, returning home after 15 years in the service industry to take over the farm.

While retirement plans for Daryl and Dagmar have slowed, they are thrilled to welcome home their children. Keeley, Morgan, and José hope to expand the family business by fostering existing relationships with longstanding customers and forging new ones with the next generation of cattle producers.
